I warmly welcome you to the Department of Zoology and Environmental Biology (ZEB). Zoology and Environmental Biology is an integrated scientific study of the animal kingdom and their influence on the environment and environmental systems. It is the understanding of embryology, evolution, classification, habitats and distribution of all living and extinct animals to the advantage of man. We offer a memorable educational journey to discover nature.
Staff: Our staff are of interesting and diverse backgrounds, with varying skills, competencies, knowledge and abilities. We have specialists in Entomology, Genetics, Hydrobiology, Parasitology, and Physiology. We run a robust Undergraduate (BSc.) and Postgraduate (MSc. and PhD) Programmes, and award degrees in these specialties.
Students: As a student of ZEB, you will learn how to develop good research skills; how to analyze and critique; how to think about new ways of doing things on many levels; how to develop an academic writing style, and how to use technology to enhance learning in and outside the classroom.

Closing Remarks
Given the current global pandemic (covid-19), the Department will work to maintain healthy and safe environment. Face coverings must be worn while inside all campus buildings.

HOD Profile
Dr Collins Ndubuisi Ehisianya (born 5 August, 1971) is a Nigerian academic distinguished for his work in Agricultural and Stored Product entomology. He is Member of the Entomological Society of Nigeria.
He is the current acting Head, Department of Zoology and Environmental Biology. He holds a PhD in Entomology and Pest Management from the University of Portharcourt, Rivers State. He started his professional career as a Research Officer with National Root Crops Research Institute, Umudike before joining MOUAU in 2015 as a Senior Lecturer.
In MOUAU, he has served as a Deputy Dean, College of Natural Sciences (COLNAS), COLNAS Representative in Senate, Member of Collage and Departmental Academic Boards and Member of several Committees in the University.
